What are ordinal NFTS?

Launched on Bitcoin mainnet by developer Casey Rodarmor on January 20, 2023, ordinal NFTs are simply the latest way to create NFTs on Bitcoin.

What is NFT & how does it work?

In the case of the most common NFTs, which are digital art, the actual JPG or file of the art is usually stored off the Ethereum blockchain and the metadata includes a link to that file. This means that the actual file or artwork can be altered since it is not embedded in the blockchain.

What are NFT inscriptions?

Inscriptions are the contents of the ordinal NFT itself—the image, text, video, or any other arbitrary data that a user would consider synonymous with an NFT. These NFTs can be best understood by drawing a parallel to non-Bitcoin NFTs, which are unique, 1-of-1 tokens that generally have two components: tokenID and metadata.

What is gamma NFT & oridalsbot?

Looking to create a seamless way for collectors to create Ordinal Inscriptions, Gamma, a Bitcoin NFT marketplace on Stacks, began offering a paid service that allows users to inscribe images and text. Other projects providing this service include Oridalsbot from the creators of the Satoshibles NFT collection.
